City’s First Readers!

We are a group of 17 organizations that help NYC families read, talk, sing, draw, and play together every day. Doing these activities with young children (birth to age 5) leads to success in school and life.

There is something for every family; whether you are looking for fun play time activities, free books and toys, things to do at home, or workshops that provide tips for parents and caregivers, we can help.

Families that join can find lifelong friends that speak their language, share their values, and have answers to neighborhood questions about schools, doctors and other parenting needs.

The best part? Our programs and activities are funded by the New York City Council and are completely free to families in your neighborhood.
