Come and play at the St. George Library Pop-Up Playdate! Celebrate the power of play and practice important early literacy skills—all while having fun! Kids ages infant to five years old and their caregivers are invited to explore different play stations, activities, and sensory experiences that promote a wide range of early learning skills. Come make new friends and learn simple and easy activities that you can recreate at home! Please note this event is only for children ages 5 and under accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The activities are designed for child and caregiver to enjoy together and each child must be supervised by one adult at all times. We are unable to accommodate schools, daycares, or other groups. Space is limited. First Come First Served Stroller parking is limited.

This program will be in person at Bloomingdale Library. Visit us in the children’s room every Friday afternoon this summer to join in on the summer reading challenge. Update us on your progress for a prize, and you can take home a book for keeps each week. Do you have a gently used children’s book at home? You can leave one book a week too for another kid to swap with. Please note: If we run out of books, we may discontinue this program. Please be mindful and make sure to just take and/or leave one book a week! (We also don’t want the cart to be overfull!) Fridays all summer while supplies last starting July 10 1-3PM Major support provided by the New York Life Foundation, the 2026 city-wide sponsor for the Summer Reading and Learning Programs. Additional support is provided by Jane Lauder; The Rona Jaffe Foundation; New York Yankees Foundation; Montblanc; anonymous donors; and the continuing major support of the Andreas C.
