Brooklyn Public Library — Virtual
Join us for a brain-building program on Zoom for children 0-3 years and their parents or caregivers from Rugby and McKinley Park Libraries! Families will enjoy stories and activities designed to encourage brain development and early learning practices. Each week we will read books, sing songs, and do fun activities that promote language development, social-emotional skills, and more. Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to learn about community resources, hear from expert guest speakers, and connect with peer support networks. Prepare your child for 3-K and toddler for Pre-K! Each week, we will explore a different theme: READING, TALKING, SINGING, PLAYING, MOVEMENT, and EMOTIONS. Parents and caregivers will learn how to use these practices to develop their children’s oral language and pre-reading skills. Families will also receive FREE books, toys and learning materials, available for pickup at the McKinley Park and Flatbush branches as a part of our grab-and-go services. This series will feature mindfulness tips and practices for babies and caregivers, as well as yoga movements. We will be joined at the beginning and end of each program by Carla Waldrock, an expert in early childhood mindfulness. We can't wait to see you there! We recommend logging on to the program at least 5 minutes early so we can say hello to you and your child and so that we can get started on time.
